Founded in 2021 by Jessie Zhang, Luminous Space is based in San Mateo and serves the Bay Area, specializing in business & branding, life’s moments, and editorial & fashion photography. Known for her intuitive and emotionally attuned approach, Jessie captures more than just appearances — she reveals the spirit within.
Rooted in editorial aesthetics, we create photography that goes beyond documentation — images with intention, depth, and lasting presence.
Our work is shaped by sculpted light, thoughtful direction, and magazine-level retouching, translating identity into imagery with clarity and restraint. Selected works have been featured in Vogue and exhibited internationally, reflecting a commitment to craft and storytelling at the highest level.
We believe in a less-but-better philosophy — delivering images that stand on their own, not volume for volume’s sake. OUR STUDIO
Luminous Space is a bright, modern portrait studio located in central San Mateo, California—designed for high-end editorial and branding photography. Our studio features natural sunlight, professional Profoto lighting, a fully equipped makeup station, private wardrobe area, and convenient parking right in front and back. We proudly serve clients across the Bay Area Peninsula, including Burlingame, Foster City, Redwood City, Palo Alto, and surrounding cities.
