Creative Headshots for People Who Refuse to Look Generic
You're not a suit-and-gray-backdrop person. You're a designer, a musician, a filmmaker, a founder who built something weird and wonderful. Your headshot should look like you actually have a personality — because the generic corporate shot says nothing about who you are or what you make.
Book Your Session →Why Standard Headshots Don't Work for Creatives
A traditional corporate headshot is designed to blend in. Creative professionals need the opposite — imagery that stands out, sparks curiosity, and signals that you think differently.
Your Visual Brand Is the Product
If you're a designer, an art director, or a creative strategist, everything you put out into the world is a reflection of your taste. A boring headshot doesn't just look bad — it contradicts the work you do. Your portrait needs to be on-brand with your creative identity.
Social Media Rewards Originality
Another head-and-shoulders shot on a white background gets zero engagement. A portrait with strong color, an interesting crop, or a distinctive mood stops the scroll. Creative headshots are content — they work as profile photos, social posts, website heroes, and newsletter images.
Casting Directors and Clients Look First
Whether you're a musician pitching to venues, a filmmaker applying to festivals, or a creative director interviewing at an agency — the people who hire you look at your photo before they look at your reel. A creative headshot signals you belong in the room.

Questions From Creatives
A standard headshot is designed to look professional and neutral. A creative headshot is designed to look like you. That might mean bolder lighting, more expressive posing, colored backgrounds, unconventional crops, or environmental settings. The goal is a portrait that reflects your creative identity, not one that hides it.
Absolutely — that's encouraged. Instruments, sketchbooks, tools of your trade, statement jewelry, hats, interesting textures. Anything that tells the story of who you are and what you do. We'll work it into the composition naturally.
Yes. If your creative identity is tied to a specific environment — your workshop, a mural wall, a rooftop, the streets of SF — we can shoot there. Studio sessions are great for controlled, editorial looks. Location sessions add context and personality. We do both.
This is actually one of our most common requests. Many creatives work in corporate environments but want something more expressive for their personal brand. We shoot a clean professional portrait first, then switch gears for the creative session. Two looks, one booking.
Sessions start at $249 for a standard headshot session. Extended creative sessions with more experimentation, wardrobe changes, and setup time are also available. Visit our headshot pricing page for full details.
